Mission
Our mission is to empower children, youth, and young adults who have lost a parent through death. We provide scholarships, resources, and unwavering support to help them pursue their educational and vocational goals. Additionally, we extend our assistance to families, including surviving spouses and siblings, ensuring they have the resources they need this challenging time. Together, we strive to make a meaningful impact on their lives and futures.
Vision

Our vision is to build a supportive community that empowers students to continue their educational or vocational journeys after the loss of a parent. We aim to provide assistance to these students and their families during such challenging times, fostering a sense belonging and encouragement. Together, we can navigate this journey and ensure that no one has to face it alone.

Community Partners
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Phyllis Wheatley Board of Directors for their generous contribution and belief in our mission. Their support will help provide financial assistance to students facing challenges that no young person should have to navigate alone.
The Foundation looks forward to opening applications for the 2026-2027 scholarship cycle in the coming months. We encourage prospective applicants, families, educators, and community members to follow our website and social media channels for application announcements, eligibility requirements, and important deadlines.
